Roles and responsibilities of this job

The Distributor Salesman (DS) is responsible for effective route coverage, outlet servicing, shelf execution, retailer relationship management, and consistent sales growth within the assigned beat. The role emphasizes discipline, strong market presence, and trust-based selling rather than dependence on short-term schemes.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Route & Beat Management

Cover the assigned route daily as per the Permanent Journey Plan (PJP).
Follow the same route, outlets, and schedule consistently.
Ensure 100% outlet coverage, including small kirana and local shops.
Maintain strong route discipline, understanding that market performance is driven from the field.

Outlet Coverage & Sales Execution

Visit all assigned outlets regularly.
Ensure product availability at every outlet.
Generate orders based on actual stock requirement and sales potential.
Focus on sustainable and consistent sales growth through repeated visits.

Shelf Management & Merchandising

Check the shelf before initiating any sales discussion, ensuring:
o Product availability
o Proper visibility
o Eye-level placement
Maintain clean, organized, and attractive shelves at all outlets
Ensure correct product placement and merchandising standards.
Paste minimum two posters (Xtreme & Max Tiger) in each outlet as per company guidelines.

Retailer Relationship & Trust Building

Build long-term relationships with retailers through regular and disciplined visits.
Support retailers with:
o Stock rotation
o Expiry management
o Coupon exchange
o Resolution of small operational issues
Provide solutions rather than relying only on discounts or schemes.
Act as a dependable and trustworthy partner for retailers.

Market Intelligence & Feedback

Observe competitor activities, pricing, and promotions at the outlet level.
Share relevant market feedback with the Sales Supervisor/Sales Officer / ASM.
Identify opportunities for sales growth within the assigned territory.

Discipline & Consistency

Follow the same execution standards every day:
o Route coverage
o Shelf checks
o Honest and clear communication
Avoid shortcuts and focus on repeatable, disciplined actions.
Maintain consistent performance without dependency on heavy promotional schemes.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Higher Secondary (+2/A Levels/IB)

Required Experience:Equal to 1 year
