Duty Station: Kathmandu
Responsibilities:
Deal with the challenges of the digital transformation in the country and promote the digital transformation process and provide competent support
Act as the Service Point of Contact (SPoC) for GIZ HQ for all digitization topics in the country
Report IT security incidents and risks after consultation with the IT professionals
Become the first point of contact for digital topics, information management, IT security and data protection in the country for all GIZ Nepal staff
Maintain close contact to the IT Partners, Document Management responsible and the DIGITS division of GIZ HQ
Maintain regular exchange within the network of other Digitization Partners (DIPA) as well as the Digital Pioneers network on information management topics
Support colleagues in the respective offices by introducing the use of existing and new digital GIZ systems, such as Integrated Digital Applications (IDA) / Office365, Document Management System (DMS) etc.
Advise colleagues on the regulations relating to Document Management system of GIZ
Provide orientation and training to all the staff in the country for future digital solutions
Understand the digitized and documented processes in the office and provide orientation where necessary
Collect requirements for analogue processes that need to be digitized and express their recommendations on any necessary organizational adjustments to the various networks at GIZ HQ
Advise GIZ partners, in coherence with the relevant departments at GIZ HQ, when using existing as well as developing special IT tools, for and with the partners
Be contact person for the country office and projects for related topics in digitization (centralized information management systems, interaction of different systems, planned / upcoming IT projects with relevance for the country)
Support to the DIGITS data protection management of GIZ HQ to handle personal data in the GIZ information management systems, exchange with the Document Management responsible persons’ network, coordination in the event of loss of IT equipment and event-related adjustments of authorizations and personal data in the GIZ information management systems and provide advice to the responsible persons in the country
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Master’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or a related degree with 5 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree in the same field with more than 8 years of experience
Outstanding working and technical knowledge of computer applications e.g. MS Office 365 and Document Management systems
Familiar with the basic data protection concepts, Nepal’s Privacy Act, Cyber Policy and IT Policy, IT Bill etc.
Knowledge of information security risks
Desirable skills in training, communication and change management
Ability to work in diverse teams and be a team-player
Excellent communication skills in English and Nepali (both written and verbal) and knowledge of German would be an added advantage
