Title: Digital Content Producer

Grade: 7

Based: Kathmandu, Nepal

Duration: 5 months with possibility of extension subject to funding

We are seeking applications from qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Digital Content Producer. S/he will be working in close coordination with the production team within BBC Media Action Nepal.

Job purpose

The Digital Content Producer will be responsible for producing, designing and developing digital output as per the project requirement. The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the content of the digital programme and aligning it with BBC’s editorial guidelines and values. The role will also regularly involve scripting and directing digital media contents.

Main Duties

  • Conceptualize and execute digital contents and programme materials as per the requirement of the project
  • Plan, execute and process professional level audio-visual contents in various digital media platforms, including, but not limited to technical direction, editing, programme production and
  • writing contents as and when required
  • Coordinate with the project team to develop production plan and determine workflow requirements
  • Lead and supervise the production of animated videos with the team of motion/Info graphic designers
  • Offer creative and innovative ideas on how media outputs on digital platform can be built on its audiences
  • Ensure all content meets the required technical standards, BBC editorial policy and BBC values
  • Be responsible for all aspects of production and post-production processes of any digital media output
  • Liaise with production team about all technical requirements, e.g. sound recording requirements,music, set designing, graphics and transitions.
  • Understand and comply with the Safeguarding policy and the staff Code of Conduct
  • Participate in relevant mandatory training on Safeguarding and Respect at Work
  • Report any Safeguarding concerns immediately, either to the Country Director, or using the Whistleblowing Policy
  • Other duties assigned by the Line Manager

Essential skills and experience

  • Demonstrable creative ability
  • Minimum university degree in media, communication and/or related field
  • Must have broad knowledge of photographic/videography processes, methods and new technologies
  • Strong understanding of BBC editorial values and their application in programme making
  • Minimum 6 years of experience of using different format TV programmes, visuals and editing styles
  • Minimum 6 of professional experience in directing, producing and writing media related programs
  • Knowledge of methods, practices and procedures used in developing and editing media products
  • Thorough knowledge of visual editing softwares, MS-Office Suite, such as Word, Excel,PowerPoint and email applications
  • Commitment to BBC Media Action’s vision, mission and objectives
  • Flexibility, creativity and effectiveness in working collaboratively in a multicultural team
