We are seeking experienced Development, Outreach, and Communications (DOC) Specialist to assist with our team’s implementation of USAID/Nepal’s Learning for Development (L4Dev) Contract in Kathmandu, Nepal. The contract is anticipated to start in July 2022. The Development, Outreach, and Communications (DOC) Specialist is responsible for collaborating with Component leads, USAID and Stakeholders to improve the quality and breadth of Mission communications and outreach by supporting the Mission and its implementing partners.

Project: USAID/Nepal Learning for Development (L4Dev)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide recommendations to the company, USAID, and stakeholders to improve the quality and quantity of development outreach products;
  • Provide backstopping support to assist the USAID Development, Outreach, and Communications (DOC) Team to strengthen planning and delivery of communications;
  • Develop and recommend strategies to improve communications and help USAID achieve its goals and objectives within the USAID Branding and Marking framework;
  • Develop written task and workplan to meet USAID requirements around communications and data visualization;
  • Advise on appropriate tools and technologies to reach selected audiences, developing targeted messages for individual audiences, and utilization of innovative DOC strategies and practices;
  • Assist with the development of key messages for implementing partners to promote the Mission’s goals and country development and cooperation strategy objectives;
  • Design, facilitate, and implementing communications workshops, training events, and other capacity building events;
  • Organize photography and video services, as needed, to cover USAID or program events; and
  • Assist Mission teams in using data analysis and visualization tools such tableau or other as recommended by the Mission.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or international equivalent or higher in digital communications, computer sciences, information technology, mathematics or another relevant technical field;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience performing similar duties;
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills, including a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate strategies or plans to stakeholders and co-workers;
  • Working knowledge of software commonly used in data visualization activities, such as Tableau;
  • Experience with USAID’s Development Information System (DIS) or Development Data Library (DDL) preferred, but not required;
  • Fluency in English (Level 4 – Advance Professional Proficiency or higher)
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
