Position: Depot Manager
Reports To: National Sales Manager – Plastics Division
Grade: Equivalent to ASM/RSM
Base / Travel: Corporate Office, Kathmandu; Frequent visits to depots

Position Purpose

To take full charge of the sales and day-to-day operations of all eight Panchakanya depots, running each depot as a self- standing profit centre. The role centralises depot supervision, which is currently carried directly by the National Sales Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Sales

Deliver the monthly and annual sales target of each depot by value, volume and product category.
Grow the retailer, sub-dealer and contractor base served by each depot; reduce dormant accounts.
Ensure depot pricing follows the approved MRP (Maximum Retail Price) and discount structure; prevent channel conflict with dealers in the same catchment.

Depot Profitability

Own the Quarterly profit and loss of each depot — sales, gross margin, and depot running cost (rent, salaries, handling,freight, utilities, security).
Review depot-wise performance every month with each Depot In-charge and report a consolidated position to the NSM.
Control depot operating cost against budget and flag loss-making or under-utilised depots with a corrective plan.
Prepare the depot-wise annual business plan — sales, cost, manpower and stock levels.

Stock & Operations

Ensure timely replenishment — no stock-out of fast-moving SKUs and no build-up of slow-moving or dead stock.
Keep depot inventory within the approved days-of-stock norm; drive liquidation of non-moving and damaged material with approval.
Ensure all depot stock movement is entered in NetSuite in real time; conduct quarterly physical stock counts and reconcile variances with written explanation.
Maintain depot premises, stacking, housekeeping and safety standards.

Collection & Credit

Deliver the monthly collection target of each depot and keep overdue receivables within the approved limit.
Ensure no dispatch is released beyond an approved credit limit without written authorisation.
Ensure daily reconciliation and same-day banking of depot cash and cheque collections.
Coordinate with Credit Control on customer limits, ageing review
Coordinate with Recovery team and legal team for the recovery of chronic accounts.

SOP Compliance

Enforce the existing Depot SOP at all eight locations and carry out a documented compliance check on every depot visit.
Act as the single point of contact for Internal Audit on depot audits and close observations within the agreed timeline.
Report any suspected leakage, unauthorised billing or misappropriation immediately to the NSM — no local settlement.

Team

Set monthly targets for each Depot Incharge and review performance formally every month.
Train depot staff on the SOP, NetSuite transactions, product knowledge and safety; recommend hiring, transfer or separation to HR.

Essential

Bachelor degree in any discipline.
Minimum 5 years in trade / channel sales specially in construction materials related industries with experience of handling a team.
Working knowledge of an ERP system; able to read stock, sales and receivable reports and act on them.

Preferred

Experience in construction materials — pipes and fittings, tanks, cement, steel, paints or sanitaryware.
Prior depot, branch, warehouse or C&F (Carrying & Forwarding) handling experience — an added advantage, not mandatory.
Exposure to credit control and receivable recovery
