  • S/he should have a high level of technical skills on social research including participatory approach, knowledge and experience on study design and methodology, quantitative & qualitative data analysis, operational research, and use of a statistical software. 
  • S/he should demonstrate excellent analytical abilities and strong writing skills to communicate research studies and lessons within the organization and diversity of stakeholders. 
  • S/he should also confirm the ability to work effectively in multi-cultural settings with a wide variety of stakeholders and present complex information in an understandable manner. 
  • The position holder should have good representation skills, excellent interpersonal & communication skills and the ability to work under pressure/stress. 
  • S/he should have expertise in MS Office package, SPSS and STATA and fluency in Nepali and English language (spoken and written) and should be able to produce quality reports/documents in English for knowledge management and documentation.

Job Description

  • The Data Analyst and Operational Research Coordinator will work in the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) unit to support Program Specialists and Managers to ensure they are accessing relevant information with the right analysis to identify key issues and to make improvements in the quality of programs. 
  • S/he will also support the Program Team in the design and conduct of high quality evidence based operational research on key issues so as to provide credible information to support decision-making that will positively impact on children’s wellbeing. 
  • S/he will work with the Program Team on data use from MEAL and the Operations Management Information System (OPMIS), and their analysis to generate high quality lessons. 
  • The outputs from this position will enable the Program Team as well as Senior Management Team, to take course correction measures as well as strategic decision making for delivering high quality impact on children. 
  • Besides, the position holder will be responsible for producing high end researched documents and papers for widespread dissemination of Save the Children’s good practices and lessons at country, regional and global levels.

Term and Location: Fixed term position based in Kathmandu with frequent field visits
