Required Qualifications 

A data analyst needs to have a combination of technical as well leadership skills. A bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Management, or Economics is preferable and having statistical and analytical skills is desirable. Data analysts should have a good understanding of Nepal’s context in regards to Nepal’s Census Data, population distribution, economic distribution, cultural distribution, and geographic distribution.

  • Strong mathematical skills to measure, organize and analyze collected data
  • Knowledge of programming languages like  Python along with data related libraries like Matplotlib, csv, pandas
  • Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages like Excel, SPSS, SAS to be used for data set analyzing
  • Experience in handling BI tools like Google data studio
  • Knowledge of map-based data visualization software like Tableau; knowledge of chart and chart implementation 
  • Experience in handling large datasets 
  • Knowledge of how to create and apply the most accurate algorithms to datasets in order to find solutions
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Team-working skills
  • Verbal and Written communication skills

Job Description

Data Analyst Roles and Responsibilities Include: 

  • Data correction and fixing data errors and other data-related problems
  • Reorganize the data in a readable format based on the risk assessment framework 
  • Filter Data by reviewing risk assessment framework and defined indicators to identify and correct any data related issues and problems
  • Using statistical tools to identify, analyze and interpret data sets to assess the quality and meaning of data
  • Creating appropriate documentation that allows stakeholders to understand the steps of the data analysis process and duplicate or replicate the analysis if necessary.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of the data; process, design,and present it to help make better better-informed decisions
  • Collaborating with programmers, engineers, and project leaders to identifying opportunities for process improvements and recommend system modifications
