We are looking for a creative, kind, open minded, and dedicated individual to work with us as our communications coordinator. The ideal candidate is someone interested in pursuing a career in Nepal’s creative industries, has an abiding love for storytelling in and across all forms, loves to read, can work independently within a team, is conscious of their emotions and the effects of their actions, loves the joys and challenges of traveling and working across Nepal, and values lifelong learning.
Currently, Quixote’s Cove and Satori Center for the Arts are home to the U. S. Embassy’s Book Bus, the publishing imprint Safu, the literary magazine La.Lit, and the spoken word group Word Warriors. The communications coordinator will create content, run campaigns, and engage our communities online in Nepal and the South Asia region for these programs.
As a communications coordinator, we expect you to have excellent communication (written and spoken English and Nepali) skills, a distinctive sensibility, and be able to express our organization’s views and values creatively. You should also be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends.
This is a full time position with a minimum two years commitment requirement. It is primarily Kathmandu based, but you can expect to travel (post-pandemic) around Nepal. We offer a salary based on skills and experience and are open to negotiation.
Women and gender non-conforming people from marginalized communities and those who are fluent in a language of Nepal other than Nepali are strongly encouraged to apply. Our work is rooted in creating safe spaces that are inclusive to different genders, sexualities, ethnicities, and abilities.
