Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Business Development Officer with a background in BSc Agriculture to join our agriculture-focused company. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical expertise in agriculture and business acumen to identify opportunities, build relationships, and drive growth in agricultural products, services, and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Research and Strategy Development

  • Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities for agricultural products and services.
  • Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to develop strategic growth plans.
  • Client Acquisition and Relationship Management
  • Identify and establish relationships with new clients, including farmers, cooperatives, agribusinesses, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

Promotion and Sales

  • Promote the company’s agricultural products and services through various channels.
  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential clients.
  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to revenue growth.

Collaboration and Networking

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including R&D, production, and marketing, to align business strategies.
  • Participate in agricultural fairs, exhibitions, and seminars to network and promote the company's offerings.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Monitor project progress, customer feedback, and market developments to refine strategies.
  • Prepare periodic reports on business development activities, achievements, and challenges.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: BSc. in Agriculture or related field (required).
  • Experience: Previous experience in business development, sales, or marketing in the agriculture sector is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural practices, products, and services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, report writing, and market research.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to rural and agricultural areas.
