Job Title: Business Development Manager
Location of Post: Kathmandu
Reports to: Country Director, Nepal
Salary: Negotiable
Purpose of Job:
The post holder will work closely with Country Director, Nepal to contribute to the achievement of the country strategy and business plan. The post is responsible for all activities of SMEC Nepal that relates with the development and procurement of business. You shall be primarily responsible for monitoring/tracking business opportunities, preparation of EOI & Proposals. You will also be required to provide management assistance to projects including project coordination, operation, and implementation. You will work closely with Country Director and the report to Country Director, Nepal for day to day business development and project management issues.

About the organization
SMEC has operated in Nepal since 1968. SMEC’s first project in Nepal was the 300 MW Karnali Hydropower Project. SMEC provided project planning services and undertook feasibility studies on the project.
Since then, SMEC has worked on a range of projects throughout Nepal including: a water resources and energy training program on behalf of the Government of Nepal; Rasuwagadhi Hydroelectric Project; Kathmandu Sustainable Urban Transport Project; and the Sanjen (Upper) and Sanjen Hydroelectric Project located approximately 160 km north of Kathmandu.
More recently, SMEC has been awarded a contract by the Government of Nepal’s Department of Electricity Development to provide detailed engineering designs and Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) on the 20 MW Budhi Ganga Hydropower Project.
