Position Overview

This mid-level backend engineer role presents a prestigious opportunity to engage with cutting-edge SaaS software, showcasing innovation through the use of leading-edge technologies. Responsibilities

Collaborative engagement with our design and engineering teams to further enhance our Legal tech platform.

Development of scalable and efficient backend services using Node.js in a microservices architecture.

Design and implement APIs, data models, and integrations with external services.

Optimise backend performance, scalability, and reliability.

Undertake code reviews and ensure quality assurance.

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum of 4 years of experience as a backend engineer, with a preference for those who have engaged with startups and worked on scalable Node.js applications in a microservices architecture.

Proficient in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js, with practical experience in building RESTful APIs and integrating with NoSQL databases (e.g., AWS DynamoDb, Elasticsearch).

Strong understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and best practices in software development.

Familiarity with message queues and event-driven architectures.

Desirable Expertise

Proficient in Serverless Computing, particularly in the context of the AWS ecosystem, and well-versed in the principles of the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code, employing tools such as AWS CDK/Terraform.

Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Datadog, AWS Cloudwatch) for troubleshooting and performance optimisation.

Experience within GitHub actions and contributions to CI/CD pipelines.

Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth, JWT).

Familiarity with search engines like Elasticsearch for implementing advanced search functionalities.
