Should have a keen interest in quality control systems and their application to the manufacturing industry
Should be interested in developing technical trade and quality assurance skills in an advanced laboratory setting
Well developed written and oral communication skills
Ability to observe and analyze workplace procedures / products and identify defects or non compliant aspects
Demonstrated interest in the mechanical engineering and production industry
Demonstrated problem solving abilities including the ability to apply technical knowledge to challenging and unique situations
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team, manage multiple tasks and reporting relationships
Demonstrated commitment to personnel development in areas of technical expertise.
Sound physical health.

Should work under the direction of the senior laboratory personnel, will be responsible for monitoring quality control within the manufacturing facility so as to ensure that all products and procedures conform to the required standards.
Provide quality control services within Fred Hollows Intra Ocular Lens Facility products in line with documented procedures.
Completion of documentation associated with quality control
Clean and well maintain equipment and work stations
Safe operation of a range of specialist plant and machinery associated with manufacturing.
Perform other duties assigned by senior personnel in the interest of improving the productivity and quality of production.
