Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Area Sales Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing sales operations within an assigned area, driving revenue growth, and building strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development:

Identify, pursue, and convert sales opportunities in dairy, food, and FMCG categories within assigned territory.
Manage and grow existing accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Develop and implement territory sales plans to achieve revenue and margin targets.
Track competitor activities and market trends to identify growth opportunities.

Project Implementation & Execution:

Lead end-to-end execution of sales projects from starting of project, including product launches, promotional campaigns, and retail activations.
Coordinate with internal teams (marketing, supply chain, distribution) for smooth project rollout.
Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful implementation.
Analyze project results and suggest improvements for future initiatives.

Key Account & Retail Management:

Maintain strong relationships with retail chains, distributors, and institutional clients.
Ensure compliance with merchandising, planograms, and display guidelines.
Monitor stock levels, plan promotional activities, and resolve operational challenges on time.

Team Management & Coordination:

Lead, mentor, and motivate sales representatives or promoters within the area.
Provide guidance on sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer engagement.
Conduct regular field visits to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Reporting & Analytics:

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports, including project status updates.
Analyze sales performance metrics and propose corrective actions.
Provide insights and recommendations to management for strategic planning.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 3 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Agriculture, or related field.
3–7 years of experience in sales, project implementation, or key account management in dairy, food, FMCG, or retail chain business.
Strong understanding of modern trade, retail chains, and institutional sales.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing projects successfully.

Skills & Competencies:

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
Leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of sales analytics, CRM tools, and MS Office.
