Job Description

An Area Sales Manager typically manages sales force within his defined regional territory. He/ she is responsible for overseeing sales operations, meeting targets and managing the sales team in the specified region.

Report To:  National Sales Manager

Essential Functions:

  • Maintaining and increasing sales of the company
  • Achieving the targets and goals set of the specified area 
  • Establishing, maintaining and expanding customer base 
  • Servicing the needs of existing customers 
  • Increasing business opportunities through various routes to market 
  • Setting sales targets for individual and sale team as a whole  
  • Allocating areas to sales representatives 
  • Developing sales strategies and setting targets 
  • Monitoring team's performance and motivating them to reach targets 
  • Compiling and analyzing sales figures 
  • Possibly dealing with some major customer accounts yourself 
  • Collecting customer feedback and market research 
  • Keeping up to date with products and competitors
