Analysis Officer

How much does a typical farmer earn in Nepal ? What crops do they plant ? What if a farmer planted crops C and D instead of A and B ? How much can they afford to pay ? How much are they willing to pay for modern agro-processing equipment like water pumps ? What would be the most affordable and efficient financing structure for the farmers ?

As our Analysis Officer, you will be playing around with numbers, loads of them, to find answers to these questions and help us further optimize our continuously evolving, data-driven project development process though Off Grid Bazaar platform. Your work will help us design strategies to increase sales, improve revenue, and minimize risks while implementing Gham Power’s primary product-lines, especially the Solar Powered Agro-Processing Systems.

Job Description

• Analysis and interpretation of relatively large volume of data to draw meaningful conclusions and recommendations using suitable statistical methods.
  
• Create and maintain an updated database for the projects undertaken. Regularly assess the project database for maintaining consistency and completeness. Identify and notify/rectify where necessary.
  
• Devise and coordinate project execution and fundraising strategies through consultation inside the company, and with partner organizations.
  
• Write applications for relevant national and international grants and competitions; and relevant updates and reports periodically.
  
• Write news releases, reports, publications, and host press conferences, or other programs, when necessary.
  
• Coordinate information sharing, and learning activities inside the organization to support documentation and to facilitate shared learning of key lessons and achievements.
  
• To plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of the specific project you are working on
  
• Compile relevant reports for projects undertaken with partner organizations/donors/private investors and other relevant stakeholders in the sector
  
• Identify and pursue potential leads to develop and coordinate collaboration with various national and international organizations and agencies with shared interests and objectives.
  

Skills and Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Economics, Statistics, or other relevant streams.
  
• Excellent command over Microsoft Excel, with skills and prior experience in data analysis will be a major advantage
  
• Prior experience in data analytics, or related work is highly desirable.
  
• Master’s Degree is not mandatory, but desirable. Candidates with ongoing Masters are also encouraged to apply as relatively flexible working hours can be agreed upon, provided they are willing to commit at least 5 working days a week.
  
• Critical thinking, attention to the details and sound command in Mathematics will be useful.
  
• Excellent Communication: both verbal and written, especially in written English. Prior experience in writing, editing, proofreading reports, articles, magazines, scholarly or otherwise, will be a major advantage.
