Duty Station: HANDS Nepal, Dudhauli with frequent travel to the Project Location.
Contract type: Six months with possibility of extension based on fund availability.

Through partnerships with multiple agencies and over 42 projects impacting more than 200,000 people across thirteen districts, HANDS Nepal strengthens local governments, promotes participatory governance, and ensures marginalized communities can shape their futures.
Project: Partnership for Smallholder Farmers and Youth Entrepreneurship based on Agriculture and Livestock Development, Dudhauli Municipality
HANDS Nepal, Sindhuli has been working in a long-term partnership with HEIFER Project Nepal and HEIFER International Nepal since 2009. Currently, the organization is collaborating with HEIFER Project Nepal and Dudhauli Municipality to implement the 'Partnership for Smallholder Farmers and Youth Entrepreneurship based on Agriculture and Livestock Development, Dudhauli Municipality'. The project aims to strengthen sustainable and climate-resilient livelihoods through agriculture and livestock-based enterprises and value-chain development. The project focuses on improving livestock/agricultural productivity, diversification, market access, and income opportunities for small farmers, youth, women, and marginalized households in Dudhauli Municipality. It emphasizes climate-smart, especially focusing on livestock/ agriculture practices, agri-entrepreneurship, and strengthened linkages between producers, markets, and service providers.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Agriculture Development Officer (ADO) provides technical leadership and field-level support for the identification, development, and promotion of high-value agricultural commodities, including AAKABARE, vegetables, spices, fruits, and other market-oriented crops. The position focuses on site-specific planning, climate-smart agriculture, soil fertility and crop protection management, and economic analysis to enhance the productivity, profitability, and sustainability of smallholder farming systems.

About the organization
Human & National Development Society (HANDS) Nepal is a social, non-governmental, non-political, non-profit making Sindhuli based and multi-disciplinary organization registered at the District Administration Office (DAO), Sindhuli in 2057 B.S. and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council (SWC), Kathmandu since 2061 B.S. HANDS Nepal was initiated by a group of well -qualified and experienced professionals who have several years’ experiences in the area of natural resources management and integrated community development sectors. It was established with an aim to bring about sustainable development of the rural communities of Nepal through envisioning, implementing and supporting community initiatives to development. It focuses on governance, human/dalit/child rights, women empowerment, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), gender and social inclusion, income generation, protection, health, education and sanitation of rural communities. It has been working in Sindhuli, Sindhupalchowk, Dolakha and Udayapur, Makawanpur, Lalitapur, Chitawan, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Dhanusha, Siraha, Rasuwa, Morang districts for strengthening the local governments and empowering the communities by providing knowledge, skills and awareness on education, WASH, health, solid waste management, livelihood, protection, gender, disaster and climate change adaptation in partnership with various international organizations. It has more than 20-year experience in the field of community development and already implemented more than 42 projects in partnerships with various international organizations including Plan International Nepal, TIFA Japan, Heifer International Nepal, World Vision International etc. All these projects have benefitted more than 200,000 populations in project implemented districts.
