RECOFTC Nepal is inviting candidates to apply for the position of Administration and Finance Officer. The successful applicant will be based in Kathmandu, Nepal. The contract duration is for 12 months with a possibility of extension subject to funding and satisfactory performance. The position is for Nepalese nationals only.

Qualifications and experience 

The Administrative and Finance Officer will have the following qualifications and experience: 

Essential 

  • Bachelors’ degree in business administration and management or relevant field from  recognized university  
  • At least 3 years of experience in financial and administrative management, handling  information management technology will be advantageous 
  • Good written and spoken English and Nepali  
  • Practical skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office application and accounting  software especially Tally  
  • Nepali nationality only 

Desirable 

  • Master degree in business administration and management or relevant field  
  • Familiarity with various multilateral and bilateral funding mechanisms  
  • Ability to adapt and take initiative to improve the work quality 
  • Multi-tasking and ability to organize several tasks to meet deadlines 
  • Hands-on experience and ability to work independently with minimum supervision 
  • Interpersonal communication skills, individually and in groups with an ability to work  as an active member of teams, flexibly and with an open mind  
  • Ability to work in a variety of cultural and institutional contexts 

Job Description

  • Process payments and maintain all financial records along with appropriate supporting documents in compliance with RECOFTC Nepal and donors’ finance and  administration policy and procedures, and taxation rules and regulations of Government of Nepal 
  •  Keep account transaction record in Tally software 
  •  Maintain all account-related documents electronically and in hard copies and keep  transections record in Tally software 
  • Prepare financial report as required by RECOFTC Main Office as well as donors 
  •  Regularly update the account and admin-related information on to RECOFTC  integrated information system 
  •  Communicate with bank in person or electronically to acquire necessary information  timely 
  •  Arrange logistical support for meetings, training, workshops, and for staff travelling  on duty domestically and internationally 
  •  Maintain soft copies of all the communication with other RECOFTC members,  consultants, partners and donors related to financial and accounting management 
  •  Process procurement for office equipment and services in compliance with RECOFTC and donors’ policy and requirements.  
  • Keep inventory of all the assets of RECOFTC Nepal and ensure they are in good  working condition, and prepare annual fixed asset reconciliation and report 
  • Coordinate recruitment activities in compliance with RECOFTC policy and procedures 
  •  Process payroll for RECOFTC Nepal staff in compliance with laws and regulations of  Government of Nepal  
  • Maintain office conditions, ensure the good environment and smooth running of  RECOFTC Nepal’s office and timely operations 
  •  Communicate with the administrative and finance team at RECOFTC’s main office as  and when necessary keeping the Managing Director updated 
  •  Perform any other tasks assigned by the Managing Director
