About Karkhana Science Program

The Karkhana Science Program is a year-long hands-on science education program designed to transform how science is taught and learned in schools across Nepal. The program equips schools with curriculum-aligned science kits, practical learning resources, teacher professional development, classroom mentorship, and digital tools that enable meaningful, inquiry-based science learning.

Rather than treating science as a subject to memorize, the program encourages students to investigate, experiment, observe, question, and apply scientific ideas through practical experiences. Teachers receive continuous support through training, classroom observations, mentoring, and a nationwide professional learning community, ensuring that high-quality science education becomes a sustainable classroom practice.

We currently work with 400+ schools in 67 districts collaborating with 800 + science teachers and impacting 60,000 students.

About the Role

We are looking for passionate and motivated Regional Coordinator (Karkhana Representatives) to support the successful implementation of the Karkhana Science Program in partner schools across Nepal. As a Karkhana Representative, you will be the primary point of contact between Karkhana and the schools assigned to you. You will work closely with principals, school coordinators, and science teachers to ensure that the program is implemented effectively throughout the academic year. Through regular school visits, classroom support, relationship building, and timely reporting, you will help create meaningful learning experiences for thousands of students.

Key Responsibilities

Annual Responsibilities

Coordinate the distribution of student science kits, teacher resources, gratitude bags, and certificates.
Support teacher onboarding and professional development sessions.
Ensure all implementing teachers are successfully onboarded to the Karkhana App.
Coordinate the delivery of missing learning materials and resources.
Support regional events, teacher gatherings, and school engagement activities.

Monthly Responsibilities

Support the implementation of practical assessments in assigned schools.
Submit monthly implementation reports for all assigned schools.
Document classroom success stories, teacher experiences, and student impact.
Review school implementation progress and identify schools requiring additional support.

Weekly Responsibilities

Conduct regular visits to assigned partner schools.
Observe classrooms and provide constructive support to teachers.
Meet with principals, school coordinators, and teachers to discuss implementation progress.
Update school records, classroom progress trackers, and the Karkhana App.
Share implementation updates with school leaders and supervisors.
Participate in weekly professional development and team meetings.

Daily Responsibilities

Plan and communicate school visit schedules with your supervisor.
Travel efficiently to assigned schools (typically up to three schools per day).
Submit school visit reports, observations, and checklists on the same day.
Coordinate with internal teams to resolve field issues promptly.

Preferred Qualifications

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or recently graduated from any discipline.
Valid motorcycle or scooter driving licence with access to a two-wheeler is preferred.
Strong communication, documentation, and report-writing skills.
Ability to communicate effectively in both Nepali and English.
Comfortable using Google Workspace, email, WhatsApp, and mobile applications.

Compensation & Benefits

School Visit Incentive: NPR 400–500 per school visit, based on the priority category of the assigned school.
Monthly performance-based incentives.
