Brief description of organization

Progress Inc. is a private company which specializes in research, monitoring and evaluations, assessments, capacity building and other managerial support (documentation review, training, data entry/analysis) to public, private and non-profit sectors in the social development sector. The organization works in various sectors including education, governance, livelihood, DRR, WASH, and many more.

Working Hours: 6 days a week (9 - 5 PM)

Salary: NPR 21,000 gross per month

Job Description

  • Manage day to day administrative and financial transactions of the organization. 
  • Support for overall administrative and financial management of the organization and its projects. 
  • Ensuring implementation of organizational policies in finance and administration. 
  • System management of the admin and financial department ensuring all documents and billing system is up to date
  • Management of procurement and vendor relationship for organization and its associate organizations
  • Prepare payroll and contracts
  • Coordinate with external consultants and auditor to prepare financial audit report. 
  • Collect quotations for goods and services needed for offices; vendor relationship 
  • Ensure the required taxes are paid on time and are as per government regulation.
  • Release advance, reviews expenses of field activities and other projects
  • Official errands to bank, clients, procure goods, etc.
  • Maintain attendance data of employees
  • Petty cash management
  • Visit associate offices on a daily basis and oversee management
  • Entry of record and bills in system (tally)
  • Printing of field documents and organizing it prior to field deployment
  • Collect and check the accuracy of supporting documents and bills from suppliers
  • Organize office files and information for proper retrieval or disposal
  • Other admin duty as assigned by other departments

Qualification and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree complete with 3 years of similar experience or Master’s preferred with at least 1 year of experience
  • Previous work experience in an office setting is desirable
  • Excellent MS Word and Excel skills and good computing skills; Knowledge about tally
  • Ability to type in Nepali (Preeti and/or Unicode)
  • Good documentation and organizing skills
  • Good knowledge of national tax regulation and accounting principles
  • Trustworthy and hard working
  • Excellent communication and adaptable skills
  • Ability to keep information confidential
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and very demanding environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to ride and possess a 2 wheeler valid license (Mandatory)
