Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Accounts Head to lead our Accounts Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance, managing budgeting and reporting processes, and providing strategic financial insights to support business growth. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and extensive knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and financial management.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, supervise, and mentor the Accounts team to ensure efficient day-to-day financial operations.
Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Manage the company's general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
Prepare and monitor annual budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections.
Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
Coordinate with external auditors, banks, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies.
Oversee tax planning, VAT, corporate tax filings, and other statutory submissions.
Monitor cash flow and working capital to ensure the company's financial stability.
Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
Review financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and implement best practices.
Support business expansion and operational decision-making through financial analysis and reporting.
Maintain confidentiality of financial information and ensure data integrity.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 5 years

Other Specification

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
Professional certification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or an equivalent qualification is highly preferred.
Minimum of 5–8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of financial accounting, taxation, budgeting, auditing, and financial reporting.
Experience in the trading, distribution, or FMCG industry is an advantage.
Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
