Accountant – Lalitpur

Purpose: This position reports to Finance Officer. The position holder will be responsible for supporting in the accurate accounting and reporting of financial transactions complying the financial/operations policies.

Term and Location: 3 years fixed term employment based in Country Office, Lalitpur.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce /Business Management. At least two (2) years’ of relevant working experience in the area of accounting. INGO work experiences a plus. Experience in dealing with audit, tax related matters and issues and foreign exchange. Should have computer skills, in particular excel & word. Competencies both in spoken and written English and Nepali languages

Key Responsibility

  • Effectively maintain the general ledger, and the books of accounts of the Programme Unit (PU)/Country Office (CO).
  • Process payment requests of PU/ CO in accordance with Plan’s financial guidelines and statutory requirements. 
  • Periodically perform reconciliations and maintain subsidiary ledgers of accrual and prepayments. 
  • Support in revising quarterly budget/cash flow forecast accurately within the due date in coordination with the Technical Coordinator/ Manger.
  • Support in reviewing financial reports and settlement documents to ensure compliance with the Plan policies and procedures.
