Accountant and Software Support Assistant

Asquare Consulting Services is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented and technology-savvy Accountant and Software Support Assistant to support both accounting consultancy services and accounting software operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining client's books of accounts, assisting with VAT and income tax compliance, preparing financial reports, and providing support and training to users of the company's accounting software. This role requires a combination of accounting knowledge, tax compliance understanding and strong computer skills to ensure efficient service delivery and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting and Bookkeeping

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts for clients.
• Record sales, purchases, receipts, payments and journal entries.
• Prepare and maintain invoices, vouchers, ledgers and financial records.
• Perform bank, customer, supplier and ledger reconciliations.
• Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Prepare accounting schedules, reports and supporting documentation.

VAT and Income Tax Compliance

• Prepare and assist in filing VAT returns.
• Maintain VAT sales and purchase records.
• Assist in preparing corporate and personal income tax returns.
• Support tax computations and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate with clients to collect required accounting and tax information.
• Ensure timely completion of statutory compliance requirements.

Software Support

• Provide support to clients using the company's accounting software.
• Assist clients with software setup, configuration and implementation.
• Conduct user training and demonstrations.
• Troubleshoot software-related issues and escalate technical matters when necessary.
• Assist with data migration, report generation and system usage guidance.
• Document client issues, feedback, and enhancement requests.

Reporting and Technology

• Prepare Excel-based financial reports, schedules and analyses.
• Support the use of digital tools to improve accounting processes.
• Assist in testing new software features and updates.
• Maintain proper electronic filing and document management systems.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
