Department: Finance
Reports to: Finance Manager
Location: On-site

Position Summary:

The Account Officer is responsible for performing duties as part of the financial operations and ensuring accurate, timely processing of accounting transactions. This role supports budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with financial policies and regulatory standards. The officer plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health and accountability of the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
Process accounts payable and receivable
Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow
Assist in audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations
Handle tax filings and statutory payments
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than or equal to 3 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Proven 3-4 years of experience as an Accounts Officer or in a similar role
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero)
Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Demonstrated positive attitude and professional demeanour in workplace interactions.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify effective solutions independently or as part of a team.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Teams, to manage day-to-day tasks and communication effectively.

Preferred:

Professional certification
Experience in educational institution is an advantage
