Job Summary

YouMe School, a not-for-profit school established with the motto "Giving Back to Nepal", is looking for a highly motivated Academic Head. This role ensures the effective delivery of academic programs, maintains high educational standards, and fosters a conducive learning environment. Responsibilities include curriculum planning, faculty management, student support, coordination of academic activities, and parent counseling. We are seeking either a volunteer or a full-time candidate for this position.

Position: Academic Head, Full time

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education, Educational Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching or academic administration.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of curriculum design and instructional best practices.
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards and educational regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development and Implementation

  • Design, develop, and update academic curricula in line with educational standards and institutional goals.
  • Ensure that the curriculum is relevant, comprehensive, and meets the needs of students.

Faculty Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise teaching staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among faculty members.

Student Support

  • Monitor and support student academic progress.
  • Address student concerns and provide guidance on academic matters.
  • Organize academic advising and tutoring programs.

Academic Planning and Administration

  • Develop and manage the academic calendar, including scheduling of classes, exams, and events.
  • Oversee the implementation of academic policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements.

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct regular assessments of academic programs to ensure quality and effectiveness.
  • Implement strategies for continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

Coordination and Communication

  • Liaise with other departments, administrative staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the institution at academic conferences, meetings, and events.
  • Communicate academic policies and updates to faculty, students, and parents.

Resource Management

  • Manage academic resources, including budgets, facilities, and materials.
  •  Ensure that classrooms and laboratories are equipped with necessary supplies and technology.

Research and Innovation

  • Encourage and support faculty and students in research and scholarly activities.
  •  Promote the use of innovative teaching methods and technologies.

Parent Counseling

  • Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and school initiatives.
  •  Address parent concerns and provide guidance on how they can support their child's education.
  •  Organize and lead parent-teacher meetings and informational sessions.
