Job Description

  • Help in arranging lessons for primary classes related to library use based on the National Curriculum for English requirements and lead on the use of the Library by staff, students and parents.
  • Active interest in reading - keep up to date with development in young people's literature
  • Creative approach to fostering a love of reading in learners
  • Maintain a record of all books held in the library and maintain shelving of fiction and non­fiction books in alphabetical and numerical order
  • Monitor the condition of books as they are used and arrange for their repair as necessary.
  • Ensure that all new books are catalogued and prepared for borrowing.
  • Maintain the poster and picture files in order using the Dewey System.
  • Ensure that all users comply with the Library Rules.
  • Follow­ up on overdue and missing books.
  • Promote reading in the wider TBS community
  • Support teachers and learners response to changing needs of curriculum
