Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in designing and implementing solutions to address WASH issues and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The WASH Engineer will work on projects related civil work, environmental protection, sustainability, and the development of strategies to improve Water Sanitation and Hygiene condition in Schools and Healthcare facilities.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Design:

Conduct assessments and surveys to identify WASH infrastructure needs.
Develop and implement comprehensive waste management plans & design for schools and healthcare facilities, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Develop detailed engineering plans and designs for water supply, sanitation, and hygiene facilities.

Construction Oversight:

Supervise and manage construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and local regulations.
Provide technical guidance to construction teams and contractors.

Quality Assurance:

Implement quality control measures to ensure the durability and sustainability of WASH infrastructure.
Conduct regular inspections and assessments during and after construction.
Propose and implement strategies to mitigate potential environmental risks.

Community Engagement:

Collaborate with local communities, authorities, and stakeholders to understand their needs and incorporate community input into project designs.
Conduct awareness sessions on water conservation, hygiene practices, and sanitation.

Budget and Resource Management:

Prepare project budgets and timelines.
Monitor expenditures and resources to ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
Assess waste streams and categorize waste types to establish proper disposal methods.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of project activities, including designs, construction progress, and budget utilization.
Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than or equal to 5 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering/Civil Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
Proven experience in WASH engineering or a related field.
Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
Strong understanding of the DUDBC (Department of Urban Development and Building Construction) Codes while making civil plans, structural designs and drawings.
Excellent project management skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently in remote area.
Commitment to environmental sustainability and protection.
Two wheeler license is required.
