  • Master's Degree in Civil/Water Resource Engineering. Minimum 3 years of experience in designing and implementing WASH projects, preferably in rural , healthcare or humanitarian contexts, if Masters degree.
  • Strong knowledge of WASH technical standards and practices (e.g., Sphere Standards).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and relevant engineering software.
  • Ability to work in challenging field conditions and travel to remote areas.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in [English and local language].

Preferred Attributes:

  • Prior experience working with NGOs or community development projects.
  • Knowledge of climate-resilient WASH technologies.
  • Familiarity with community-based water resource management.

Job Summary:

The WASH Engineer will be responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and monitoring of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) infrastructure projects. This role involves working closely with communities, local authorities, and partner organizations to ensure the delivery of safe, sustainable, and context-appropriate WASH solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Planning

  • Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies of water supply and sanitation systems.
  • Design appropriate WASH facilities( Healthcare WASH Facilities, latrines, handwashing stations) based on community needs and environmental conditions.
  • Prepare technical drawings, BoQs, and cost estimates.

Implementation and Supervision

  • Oversee and supervise the construction and rehabilitation of WASH infrastructure for Healthcare WASH Facilities.
  • Ensure all work is compliant with national standards, environmental regulations, and safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate with contractors, local laborers, and community members to ensure quality construction.

Capacity Building and Community Engagement:

  •  Train and support community members and WASH Committees on operation and maintenance of WASH systems.
  •  Promote participatory approaches and integrate hygiene promotion into technical interventions.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Conduct regular site inspections and technical evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and report progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Contribute to donor and internal reports as needed.
