Roles and responsibilities of this job

N.I.E. is seeking a creative-minded and experienced Full-Time Video Editor to join the team at N.I.E. (Nepal Institute of Engineering). The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in various forms of video production, from short-form social media content to long-form projects, and possess foundational graphic design abilities.

Key Responsibilities

Video Editing & Production: Edit and finalize a diverse range of video content, including:
Short-Form Content: Produce engaging videos and Reels for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.).
Long-Form Content: Edit longer videos such as documentaries, educational content, or promotional material.
Podcast Videos: Edit video recordings of podcasts, ensuring high-quality audio and visually engaging presentation.
Graphic Design Integration: Utilize basic graphic design skills to create titles, lower thirds, motion graphics, and other visual elements to enhance videos.
Content Strategy & Creativity: Contribute actively to the creative development and execution of video projects, ensuring all content is innovative, current, and aligns with N.I.E.'s brand standards.
Post-Production Workflow: Manage and maintain an organized media library, handle color correction, sound mixing, and final export/delivery of all video assets.
Collaboration: Work closely with content creators, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to understand project goals and deliver a final product that meets all requirements.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Higher Secondary (+2/A Levels/IB)

Required Experience:More than 1 year

Other Specification

Experience: Minimum one (1) year of professional video editing experience. Exceptional candidates demonstrating a highly creative portfolio may be considered even without the minimum experience.

Technical Proficiency:

Medium to high level knowledge of industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro etc).
Proficiency in basic graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) for video asset creation.
Experience working efficiently within a Mac/macOS environment is strongly preferred.

Skills:

Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A strong portfolio showcasing a range of editing styles, especially short-form/social media content.
Excellent storytelling abilities and a keen eye for visual detail, pacing, and flow.
Mindset: Must be a creative-minded individual with a proactive, problem-solving attitude.

Highly Preferred (Bonus) Skills:

Camera Operation: Experience handling professional cameras, particularly Sony camera systems.
Motion Graphics: Intermediate skills in motion graphics software (e.g., Adobe After Effects).
Audio technics: Basic understanding of audio cleanup, mixing, and mastering for video and podcast production.

Salary: Negotiable based on the candidate’s experience and skill set.
