As the Vice President of Engineering Department for Hydropower Construction, you will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the engineering activities related to hydroelectric construction projects. This high-profile position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in civil engineering, hydro construction, and project management. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, managing a diverse team of engineers, and ensuring the successful execution of hydro construction projects.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and execute the engineering strategy for hydro construction projects.
Collaborate with senior leadership to align engineering goals with overall business objectives.
Provide innovative solutions to optimize construction processes and enhance project efficiency.

Project Management:

Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of hydro construction projects.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Team Management:

Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, including civil, structural, geo-technical, and electrical engineers.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing professional development opportunities.

Technical Expertise:

Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in hydro construction.
Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team.

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering/Hydro Power Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in hydro power construction, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
In-depth knowledge of relevant engineering principles, codes, and standards.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices in hydro construction.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Professional engineering licensure is often required.
Must have successfully completed 2 hydro power projects with a capacity exceeding 20 megawatts each.

Technical requirements for the position of Vice President of Engineering in hydro construction
