Unit Head - Core Network

Position: Unit Head - Core Network

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evolve the core network to the latest technology in the industry and build the best in class and resilient core network to be in line with technology leadership strategy
  • Enhance the network capacity with proper planning, designing and developing the core architecture that best suits the business requirements.
  • Formulate business continuity plan for core network and ensure proper execution of the plan
  • Build processes and guidelines that comply with company policies and values for smooth implementation of plans
  • Direct and guide the team for proper implementation of operation and maintenance tasks.
  • Analyze interconnection KPI and initiate meetings with partners to improve the interconnection services and modernize the legacy connectivity.
  • Initiate discussion with commercials for capacity enhancement.
  • Ensure regulatory guidelines are complied with when establishing interconnections with the partners.
  • Explore and plan for new roaming solutions that enhance the customer experience and quality roaming services
  • Ensure network availability and stability through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Lead the resolution of high severity network incidents and service degradation.
  • Develop and manage the core network budget for CAPEX and OPEX
  • Optimize cost efficiency while maintaining service quality and performance
  • Execute performance management process including target setting, follow up, evaluation, and development plans for employees
  • Develop RFP, identify technically competent vendors and coordinate with procurement
  • Ensure service delivery as per agreement and initiate regular meetings with vendors for service improvements

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 8 years of relevant experience OR Master’s Degree / Professional Degree with 6 years of relevant experience
  • Preference will be given for managerial experience
  • Over 5 years of experience in managing packet and circuit core networks and associated systems.

  • Encourages teamwork and bonding within and outside team without compromising delivery of exceptional results.

Duty Station:
Kathmandu but can be placed anywhere in Nepal as per business needs or future requirements
