Job Description

Department: Training & Placement
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

Job Purpose

To lead and oversee the strategic and operational functions of the Department, encompassing Student Placement and Student Training & Development. The role is pivotal in ensuring holistic student development by building industry linkages, enhancing employability, and delivering timely support services. By driving structured programs and fostering inter-departmental collaboration, the Officer, Training & Placement plays a vital role in preparing students for successful academic progression, internship opportunities, and career placements.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Student Training & Development:

  • Design and execute an annual Training Calendar, incorporating workshops, guest lectures, career development sessions, and industry interactions.
  • Conceptualize and implement training programs aligned with industry trends and student needs.
  • Organize career counseling and guidance sessions to support student decision-making and growth.
  • Conduct structured sessions on CV writing, interview techniques, group discussions, and communication skills.
  • Organize mock job interviews of students by industry professionals and provide constructive feedback.
  • Coordinate and host guest/expert lectures and workshops on topics related to aptitude, behavioral skills, and technical knowledge.
  • Arrange industrial visits every semester, ensuring meaningful engagement and exposure.
  • Design and implement pre and post-internship orientation sessions.
  • Collect, evaluate, and digitize student internship reports and provide feedback for continuous improvement. 

Placement & Internship Coordination:

  • Develop and maintain strong industry linkages to generate internship and final placement opportunities.
  • Plan and conduct campus recruitment drives, including a comprehensive annual job fair.
  • Coordinate with external organizations for placement and internship MoUs.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with recruiters and provide regular updates to students about relevant vacancies.
  • Collect student applications and resumes, manage follow-ups, and assist in final selection processes.
  • Counsel students individually and in groups to address placement-related concerns.
  • Analyze student feedback from job and internship experiences to refine strategies.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for student-related initiatives and outreach.
  • Assist in policy development and implementation within the scope of departmental activities and goals.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the supervisor or senior management in alignment with institutional priorities.
