Contractual  period: 30 person-days spread for the lead researcher and 90 person-days spread over four months for the Researcher from the start of the consultancy

Job requirements and specification

Position 1:  A Lead Researcher will be overall incharge of the research. He/She shall be responsible for ensuring that the assessment is correctly designed, implemented and reported and ensure the timely submission of deliverables including development and finalization of the methodological framework. The Lead Researcher will provide the necessary guidance to Researcher for necessary activities related to research questions, data collection , data analysis and report wrting. The Lead Researcher is responsible for accommodating and responding to the edits and suggestions of the reviews of multiple drafts and deliver a final draft approved by NETZ. Position 2:  A Researcher will be responsible to undertake the research tasks and their analysis under the guidance of the The Lead Researcher ( Principal Investigator ). The Resercher will assist the Lead Researcher for the research design, data cllection, data analysis and report writing.

Qualifications: 

For Lead Researcher 

  • The Lead Researcher (Principal Investigator) should hold a Ph. D./Masters or an equivalent degree in relevant field with expertise in climate change and social inclusion.
  • He/she should have at least 10 years of professional experience in climate/social inclusion projects/programs development/implementation, national/international research, exposures and familiarity with national/international issues and perspectives on climate change, climate justice, and policy analysis

For the  Researcher

  • The Researcher will be responsible to undertake the research tasks and their analysis under the guidance of the principal investigator ( The Lead Researcher)
  • The Resercher will assist the Lead Researcher for the research design, data cllection, data analysis and report writing.

The employment category is time-based, with 30 person days spread over a period of four for the lead Consultant and 90 person days over four months. Remuneration is negotiable primarily determined by the experience of the applicant.

Key Competencies:

  • Proficient in conducting research on impact of climate change on vulnerable communities. .
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills;
  • Strong writing and editing skills in the English language;
  • Fluent in English and Nepali
  • Team player
