Main Responsibilities / Duties
Monitor and support the work of partner agencies in the field of community WASH, shelter, and construction of social infrastructure
Support partner agencies with preparing plans, budgets, designs, drawings, BoQ, estimates, SoW, work schedules for WASH shelter and social infrastructure
Provide capacity building to partner agencies and communities in the field of WASH, shelter and social infra-structure development
Assure timely reporting on progress and challenges as per organization’s needs
Regular monitoring and evaluation of WASH, shelter and social infrastructure activities as per the organization’s need
Monitor construction works undertaken by partner agencies to ensure that the structures are according to the standards and approved designs
Participate in relevant cluster meetings or other relevant technical groups
Liaison with relevant Government and Local authorities and community leaders, CBOs, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure proper and timely execution of planned activities and construction works implemented by partner agencies
Any other relevant duties assigned by the Project Coordinator or by the organization
Essential Qualifications
B.E. (Civil) with 3 year experience of which 1 year with humanitarian agencies or Intermediate in Civil Engineering with minimum 10 year work experience of which 5 year in humanitarian agencies
Extensive experience in construction and infrastructure works by mobilizing local communities
Very strong ability in civil engineering designs and drawings
Minimum 3 year experience in design, project preparation, estimate and project implementation, site supervision of construction of water supply systems, sanitation, shelter and social infrastructure construction projects
Sound knowledge of earthquake resilient building features
Working experience with UN, INGO /NGO will be an asset
Knowledge of physical, chemical and microbiological testing of water will also be an asset
Strong written and spoken English skills (report writing, presentation and inter personnel communication)
Strong capability in computer & IT applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet & Email etc.)
Willing to work in humanitarian programmes and to travel to remote and difficult areas
Capacity and keen interest to undertake capacity building activities for partner agencies and communities
Ability to facilitate trainings and workshops for technical staff, artisan and community members
