Job Description

Duties and responsibilities
The Team Leader for the Team Australia is fully responsible for the overall development of the Australia department at KEF.  The Team Leader Australia is based in the KEF Head Office in Putalisadak/Kahmandu and is leading the entire Team Australia from all six KEF offices in Nepal.  The Team Leader Australia works in close collaboration with the Senior Counselor for Australia but reports to the KEF Director of Counseling and International Communication and/or KEF General Manager as instructed.
The Team Leader Australia is responsible for the entire supervision of the recruitment process to the assigned study destination including, but not limited to, counseling, students’ application and pre-processing to PVA, visa grant, pre-departure formalities, post-arrival etc. This involves the supervision and guidance of junior staffs working for Australia. This is a full time position.

Counseling:

  • Handle day-to-day career counseling for students who visit KEF.
  • Assist students enrolled or referred by one-self and/or MD, Directors, Senior Counselor(s), etc. in finalizing visa documentation.
  • Co-ordinate with other Counselors/Asst. counselors regarding the developments of the cases within the department.
  • Maintain official communication with Australian institutions to facilitate the offer letters/Nomination Letter/Fees Receipt /Visa/ Travel/Airport Pick-Up/Accommodation etc. of the students.
  • Execute rehearsals for interview, pre-departure and post arrival guidance on a regular basis.
  • Represent student/visit and other visa applications on behalf of the company.

Management:

  • Plan and implement effective strategies to increases chances of applicants in obtaining visas  and to meet the company’s enrolment targets
  • Plan and Execute Institutions’ and/or KEF’s Seminars in Head Office, Branch Offices and other Business Associates’ premises as and when required.
  • Facilitate Australia Counselors of all 6 KEF offices to achieve the best enrolment results. 
  • Ensure all records and documents are properly stored and updated in both KEF software and KEF Cloud Drive in the proper format and in a timely manner.
  • Send out regular updates to fellow counselors and to other staffs within your department.
  • Recommend the HR and logistic needs of the department to the company management via the Office Manager.

Communication:

  • Create the communication thread for the students e.g., newsletter to be automatically sent out to all the counseled students that serves as the post-counseling information and follow up. 
  • Maintain regular communications with relevant institutions, Australian High Commission (AHC), and KEF Offices via email, phone or personal meetings.
  • Maintain direct communication with the Director of International Communications and Counseling for ongoing developments
  • Maintain regular communication with the KEF General Manager to facilitate verbal interaction and planning regarding any management issues.

Reporting

  • Reporting is an essential part of the job that keeps everyone informed of ongoing issues and developments.  You are therefore required to come up with monthly updates (in the form of reports in the designated format) regarding the developments and progress to be submitted to the Board of Directors via Director of Counseling and Int’l Communication. Report submission for every English calendar month should be carried out by the first week of the following month, and it should be done via email unless otherwise specified. 

Qualifications
Education

  • Must be a graduate of a foreign university (preferably an Australian university) OR have at least 3 years professional education counseling experience for Australia.
  • Required skills and experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian education system
  • Proven leadership skills and excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to motivate staff 
  • Strong communication skills are essential
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Very good computer literacy, including ability to use effectively MS Office products, email, social media and Internet, and learn KEF proprietary software.

Language skills

  • Very good written and oral command of English and Nepali
