Job Description

Working areas: Upper Solukhumbu (Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality)

Job Purpose:

  • Establish effective and sustainable approaches for early-grade teacher professional development
  • Deepen teachers’ understanding of quality reading, writing and numeracy skills
  • Establish and support the teachers to develop reading and writing activities for grade 1-3
  • Provide on-the- job support to teachers and encourage grade 1-3 teachers in grade and multi grade teaching

Experience / Skill / Knowledge:

  • Minimum 3 years working experience as primary teacher
  • Strong knowledge on Early Grade reading and writing program and on Grade and Multi-grade teaching practices
  • Minimum one year experience of delivering teacher training
  • Knowledge on government education system
  • Good subject knowledge, knowledge on classroom management, session planning, coaching and mentoring.

  • Strong interpersonal skill
  • Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently
  • Having patience and ability to handle difficult situations with a liberal perspective
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and on deadlines
  • Ability to write good reports and speak fluently in English and Nepali

Qualification:

  • Bachelor degree or Master degree (any subject) (Bachelor or Master in Education subject more preferable)
