Job Description

The consultant will be responsible for training and assisting three organizations to design, collect, and use surveys to substantiate their campaigns. The consultant will lead a training and offer support in survey development, data collection methodology, data entry, collation, analysis and visualization. The consultant will be responsible for documenting the findings and learning processes as a part of the deliverables. The consultant will work under direct supervision of the DataShift M&E Consultant in Nepal.

Communication & Coordination Protocol

  • The consultant will be required to submit daily work reports via email
  • Dropbox is used for all shared documents; the consultant will be required to work online and save their work throughout the day
  • Skype and WhatsApp calls will be required, as needed
  • Regular email and phone correspondence will be required with all organizations, especially the one CSO located outside of Kathmandu
  • Travel to CSO offices in Kathmandu will be required

Compensation

  • NRs 150,000 ($1,413) upon successful completion of deliverables.

 Timelines of the Assessment

  • Duration: 23rd November 2016 – 14th December 2016

Required Qualifications, Skills, & Experience

  • Master’s Degree in social sciences or any other disciplines.
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience with data collection, data entry, analysis and visualization.
  • Experience in training project personnel in data collection, data entry and the basics of data analysis and visualization.
  • Prior experience with on the ground development programming, civil society strengthening and advocacy strongly preferred.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Work, Excel, Skype, DropBox and Google Sheets
  • Available for an interview the week of 21st November 2016 and ability to start immediately thereafter
