Job Description

While residing at project site(s) in Mabu/Sulubung, Ilam, or nearby, the Employee, as a technical staff on behalf of the Employer, shall be responsible for following duties under the existing work place/site conditions, as involved in the Operation & Maintenance of the company's hydropower assets, in consistence with national/local government laws, and company’s policies, rules, regulations and instructions, and with those authorised by the company. 

  • Assist Plant Incharge /Assistant Plant Incharge/Supervisors towards safe,  efficient and reliable Operation and Maintenance Works of the plant, involving electromechanical machinery/equipments (including turbines, generators, governor system, transformers, control panels, valves, circuit breakers, relays, meters, control and monitoring gear, SCADA system, overhead cranes, piping systems, penstocks, gates and others) at the premises/sites of PMHL’s Hydropower Stations, Sub-Stations (Interconnections), and 132 kV Transmission Line, while co-ordinating/liaising with concerned employees of the company.
  • Attend to rotational shift duties in compliance with company’s policies/procedures/instructions as allocated.
  • Maintain work place safety standards. Use First Aid under emergencies. Assist in preparing hazard analysis/reports.
  • Identify problems/malfunctions in machinery and equipment; report such problems to the Plant In-charge/Engineer while taking necessary measures towards safe and consistent problem-solving.
  • Assist in preparation/production of reports regularly, and as allocated.
  • Use technical drawings, specifications, records and verbal/written instructions for technical problem solving.
  • Communicate regularly across concerned levels of company organization, power plants, substations and statutory authorities, or as required, and on emergencies, through suitable means of communication.
  • Plan own work, select tools, materials and equipment, propose alternative cost-effective measures, and prepare cost/time estimates to complete assignments as allocated.
  • Assist in requisitioning spares, components and other required supplies.
  • Maintain good working relations with the company staff, consultants, contractors, authorised personnel and the local community.
  • Report directly to the Plant In-charge/Engineer on all matters and duties as may be assigned.
  • Perform any other duties as and when assigned.
