Position based: Chhayanath Rara Municipality, Khatyad Rural Municipality and Soru Rural Municipality (Any one location), Mugu

Gross Salary: Rs. 44,400 /annum

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

A. Planning and Implementation:

• Plan the task break down, project implementation time, cost of resources by coordinating with the supervisor. 
• Conduct Feasibility survey, detail survey of various infrastructures related to school WASH.
• Implements the construction as per the design and estimation with quality assurance.
• Assist the supervisor for construction related plan.

B. Coordination and Communication:

• Conduct the meetings with community, with supervisor and subordinates as and when required.
• Conduct meeting with the local government, line agencies, concern government and non-government organizations, private sector and local intellectuals in the village/ward to identify problems and periodization within the project and its target communities.
• User committee formation, construction committee formation & organise field level agreement with the user committee or construction committee and sharing the responsibility of the committee member according their position. Train the community to develop ownership of the project.

C. Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare and verify bills of construction site, assists to prepare round robin to the concerned authority by providing necessary information regarding the concern construction work.
• Prepare and compile reports related to construction site daily, weekly, fortnightly and monthly to the direct supervisor and prepare working schedule for reporting, implementation and work completion in time.
• Participate the regular periodic infra related meeting and submit the reports as per the work progress.
• Listing out the materials, tools, equipments and fittings needed for project.
• Monitor and supervise the construction project to ensure if the procedure, materials and equipment comply with approved documents and specification.
• Provide information and take necessary feedback from the independent monitoring team from funding partner.

D. Design:

• Design the construction works, such Menstrual hygiene management friendly toilets, disable friendly, child friendly, gender friendly toilets and WASH infrastructures in school as per the national standards of the Nepal Government and prepare specifications/standards for quality assurance of construction works with reference to the construction site.
• Develop the visibility, monthly progress report format, working schedule for Reporting, implementation and work completion in time.
• Breakdown and segregate of the materials and skilled/unskilled labour required for each scheme and each item of work to manage the construction site and skilled/unskilled labour from community.  
• Schedule the project in logical steps, budget and time required to meet deadline. Mobilize the subordinate staff/labours. Develop and implement quality control programs and execute the project.

E. Field Visit, Monitoring and Capacity Building:

• Visits the construction site to ensure the construction activities are going as per design and estimation and monitor the subordinates.
• Attends different trainings and workshops as well as capacitate the subordinates (Assistant Sub Overseer and labours or others) who help in implementation of construction.
• Describe subordinates about project work when and where required and regular field visit to assist for quality of work in the field.

F. Other Duties:

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as instructed by Project Coordinator and Civil Engineer.

Job Specification

The candidates should have the following key job requirements and skills:

• Should have diploma engineering and the candidates having a valid two-wheeler driving license is preferred. 
• Minimum two years of working experience in building Construction and other WASH related activities (tender procedure, design, planning, implementation, budgeting, reporting, evaluation and monitoring system)
• Familiar with current government policies in construction of public building preferably in public schools including WASH activities
• Sound knowledge on project management, team mobilization and supervisory skills. 
• Manage work pressure in a sharp deadline with a limited resources and conditions.
• Have a sound knowledge on Microsoft office package and command over word processing and spread sheets, slide presentation etc.

• Locals, especially women and members of ethnic or marginalized communities are encouraged to apply for this position. The candidates having previous work experience in WASH project and Good Neighbors project will be given priority.
