Roles and responsibilities of this job

The Study Abroad Counselor at The Metaphor Consultancy will be responsible for guiding students in selecting and applying to suitable undergraduate and postgraduate programs abroad. The role involves providing expert advice on university options, admission processes, visa requirements, and scholarship opportunities. The counselor will work closely with students to understand their academic aspirations and financial capabilities, ensuring they make informed decisions about their higher education abroad.

Key Responsibilities:

Counsel students on study abroad options, including course selection, university choices, and scholarship opportunities.
Assess students academic qualifications and financial backgrounds to recommend appropriate institutions.
Guide students through application processes, including document preparation, essay writing, and interview coaching.
Assist in visa application procedures by ensuring students meet all necessary requirements.
Stay updated with the latest trends in international education, admission policies, and visa regulations.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with universities and educational institutions abroad.
Organize seminars, workshops, and orientation programs to educate students and parents about studying overseas.
Provide post-admission support, including accommodation guidance and pre-departure briefings.
Collaborate with the marketing team to promote study abroad programs through various channels.

Qualifications and Experience:

Master's degree in Education, Counseling, International Relations, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in student counseling or the study abroad sector.
Strong knowledge of international education systems, universities, and visa policies.

Skills and Competencies:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze student profiles and provide tailored guidance.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to handle multiple student cases and maintain confidentiality.
Fluency in English and Nepali.
