Design structures to conform with safety standards, building codes, and other regulations
Calculate the stability, strength, and rigidity of structures
Analyze the results of tests on materials and structures
Prepare plans and specifications for structures
Monitor the construction of structures to ensure they meet design specifications
Investigate existing structures to determine their condition and recommend repairs or modifications
Research the latest advances in structural engineering materials and methods
Collaborate with contractors and project managers
