The Accelerating Public and Private Investment in Infrastructure Component (APPIIC) of the UKAID funded Accelerating Investment in Infrastructure in Nepal (AIIN) programme is managed by IMC Worldwide: A DT Global Company. The UK Government’s Department for International Development through APPIIC supports the easing of constraints that impede investment in infrastructure and Investment Board of Nepal (IBN) in investment promotion, project development and the implementation of private and public infrastructure projects.

LOE: Full-time from appointment from December 2021 onwards to 31st March 2023

Scope of Work:

His/her responsibilities will be to undertake and lead the coordination of various activities of OIBN including development of projects and interacting with line agencies. In particular, he/she will carry out within their scope of work the following tasks:

  • Engage with the press and be networked with journalists, editors, writers etc. to build a responsible image of IBN. Should have understanding or appreciation on how government functions and should be sensitive to interplay between the legislative, judiciary and bureaucracy.
  • Anticipate and be proactive regarding projects, meetings with key stakeholders specifically to build consensus for smooth progression of projects
  • Coordinate activities between various business units of OIBN, GoN entities, donors and private sector players.
  • Prepare MS power point presentations in coordination with various business units/ entities for Board and other meetings and be responsible for dispatch of newsletters, press reports etc.  
  • Assist in drafting letters, meeting minutes, preparation of agendas and circulation of the same to concerned entities.
  • Will have to coordinate high level events with multi-media features including live events along with clear photographic and video skills. Preference will be given to candidates who are aware of complete ecosystem with ability to carry out most of the activities him (her) self and outsource only specialized activities.
  • Interact with local and global players in the infrastructure sector including banks and financial institutions.
  • Perform any other relevant tasks and instructed activities by the CEO

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Full time (2 years) Masters in Business Administration or equivalent or Masters in a field with emphasis or understanding on Public Policy, Governance etc with at least 8 years of work experience
  • Preferably 3 years of working experience in business/investment project development within either a private sector corporate body, bank, financial institution or government development-focused agency/authority.
  • Experience in Hospitality and other service-oriented industries involving coordinating various VIP interactions and movements will be valued.
  • Appreciation of understanding of financial planning/appraisal of projects & monitoring and evaluation
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have been involved in assisting C level (MD, CEO/ COOs etc.) in Banks or private sector corporate planning activities.
  • Keen interest in undertaking research and related publication
  • Proven experience in coordinating training and event management
  • IT software proficiency (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) with good report-writing and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in multi-media software packages like adobe etc. packages is essential.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken Nepali and English language

A Nepali citizen or a resident in Nepal or an individual willing to relocate to Kathmandu, having worked abroad in the financial sector will be given preference.
