Essential Functions & Qualifications:
- Build and maintain Linux servers, manage and monitor Linux host security
- Install and maintain common Linux open-source applications and services
- Build, and maintain Windows servers, MS domain services and related security policies
- Build and maintain NAS, and other storage systems
- Configure and maintain backup systems for file-system and analyze service impacting issues; apply timely and effective solutions
- Perform daily operations support, to include problem isolation, mitigation, and resolution.
- Performs administration level installation, configuration, and maintenance of all assets in the secure environment, as-needed.
- Perform weekly vulnerability scans, system audits, upgrades and patching as required in a secure environment.

- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
- Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the performance of duties;
- Develop and maintain shared documentation within the team
- Work evenings and weekends as required by planned and unplanned system maintenance
Knowledge of:
- SNMP and SFlow-based network management systems, network intrusion detection
- Linux scripting, and system security tools such as containers and host intrusion detection
- Various standards and Linux applications such as: LDAP, RADIUS, Apache Nginx, MySQL, MongoDB, Postfix, Sendmail, BIND, Syslog, SVN, Git, etc.
- Maintain network servers such as application servers, database servers, and file servers.
- Knowledge of automation tools or scripting (Perl, Shell, Python, Ruby OR PHP).
- Detailed knowledge of Linux in virtualized environments.
- Able to detail, plan, and implement failover clustering to remote environment.
- Configure & monitor network using various open source network monitors
- Windows desktop security model: AD objects, permissions, GPOs, etc.
- Common Windows enterprise applications such as Exchange, MS-SQL, IIS, file and print
- SAN disk arrays, RAID levels, fabric zoning, multi-path I/O, storage virtualization, snapshots
- Host and application virtualization platforms such as VMWare ESXi, Linux Containers and VMWare View
- Troubleshoot network issues, monitor networks and investigate performance problems, and then documenting the problems and resolutions.
Experience: Minimum 2 to 3 yrs of experience in related field
