Job Title: Sr. DevOps Engineer

Location: Kathmandu, Nepal

Work Hours: Pacific Standard Time (PST/PDT)

Altus Minds is seeking an experienced Sr. DevOps Engineer with deep experience in Kubernetes and Terraform to join our team. The candidate will work with one of our clients based in San Jose, CA, USA who is a leading provider of devops automation tools and services to global organisations. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters, infrastructure automation using Terraform, and a strong understanding of cloud-native technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Develop understanding of our client’s automation software and work with their engineers to help their customers with deployment and support of their applications.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters across multiple environments (development, staging, production)
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automating deployments
• Work closely with development teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of systems
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues using monitoring tools
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement infrastructure automation strategies
• Implement security best practices for infrastructure and applications
• Document infrastructure and processes
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and technologies

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5-8 years of experience in a DevOps role with deep expertise on Kubernetes and Terraform
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments, including deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code using Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud resources (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
• Experience with Docker containers and orchestration tools
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, or similar)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI)
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack, Grafana)
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
