• Configure and maintain database servers and processes
• Monitor, maintain database systems and troubleshoot problems that may arise
• Monitor system's health and performance
• Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security
• Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time along with solution
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
• Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
• Provide flexible timing for support of critical production systems
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
• Collaborate with software developers, system operators, administrators and other IT staff members to support products/ software development projects and the infrastructure.
• Support infrastructure projects and processes.
• Create and manage multiple databases and assist in capacity planning and requirement gathering.
• Maintain data integrity and security (manage roles and permissions of database users).
• Use tools like SQL Profiler for database tuning. Generate traces, execution plans, identify performance issues, deadlocks/contention and resolve them.
• Develop strategies and implement solutions for managing back-ups, restoration and replication.
• Create and manage constraints and indexes.
• Support software developers with database operations including the development of complex SQL, tuning of DML and the creation of stored procedures.
• Manage production, staging and development database environments.
• Create detailed documentation including diagrams of database infrastructure.
• Learn relevant business processes and understand the data flow, criticality and dependencies.
• Coordinate and communicate with all the stakeholders (internal teams and clients) effectively.
• Set up and maintain database infrastructure for the organization’s Business Intelligence (BI) needs.
