Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent).
1+ years of relevant work experience.
Strong programming experience in Java, ideally with Map-reduce and Hadoop.
Good knowledge of Linux OS, ETL tools and python scripting language.
Deep knowledge of AWS framework, Big Data concepts and commonly used modules based on extensive work experience.
Experience in MySQL, RESTful API, and GIT is a must.
Strong concept of logical and arithmetic terminology.
Basic concepts on Grails Framework and AngularJS are a plus.

Job Description

Cedar Gate Services is looking for a Software Engineer (Java) to join our Data Department.

Job Responsibilities

Writing backend part of the applications and APIs including various job engines in Java using Map-reduce and Hadoop.
Integrate the AWS framework and implement its services as per the requirement.
Creating self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components.
Writing the generic functions or procedures using Python scripts.
Writing non-blocking code and resorting to advanced techniques such as multi-threading.
Analyze existing systems to produce estimates and modify them according to requirements.
Work with SQL databases according to the design document provided.
Cooperating with the front-end developers in the process of building modules in the back end.
Validating user actions on the client-side and providing responsive feedback.
Writing extensive unit tests and TDD tasks.
Ensuring high performance and stability.
