All the work would be for the UK and international clients. You will have to work closely with our team in London and clients based in the UK and various countries around the globe. So, you will get exceptional international exposure.

Job Description

If you want to create, build and scale the technology that will change the face of accounting, tax & finance then this could be just what you’ve been waiting for. We are developing multiple new software in accounting, tax, and finance and looking for a person to lead our technology and software development.

An exciting new opportunity awaits you for a FinTech company based in London, UK with a potential equity stake (via share options) in the company. This can be a career breakthrough for a software developer with a deep interest in Fintech. You would be working from our office in Tinkune, Kathmandu in close collaboration with accountants, tax advisers, and financial consultants based in Kathmandu and London. You will also be the main point of contact and the bridge between our internal accounting & tax team and the external software development agency and consultants.

We are looking for an exceptional & inspirational leader to help drive and build the tech team from the ground up. This individual will also be responsible for the development & strategy of their platform. They are in search of someone with extensive technical leadership experience, to build out the team and really drive the development strategy including the evolution of their product.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Lead front end and back-end development
  • Develop API to ensure automation of the company’s processes and operations
  • Develop a full-scale software development team (including full-time house team members, part-time external consultants and an external software agency)
  • Continuous collaboration with chartered accountants, chartered tax advisers, lawyers and financial analysts to understand the business needs and provide technology solution
  • Define, promote and gain agreement for coding conventions, test approaches, deployment strategies and development guidelines, etc; set an example for the team by following agreed standards
  • Manage website design/development project, SEO team, and digital marketing/sales
  • Advise CEO, COO & CMO on programming language, software tools, selection of software agency/consultants
  • Ad-hoc software and IT projects

Qualification and experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the software development
  • Coding experience in Java, JavaScript, Node JS, React JS, Flutter, HTML, CSS, etc.
  • Experience in developing API
  • Experience in leading a team of software developers (either in an agency or in a company)
  • Ideally someone with a keen interest in the Fintech, accounting, tax, and finance
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Experience building web services and Internet applications (client or server-side)
  • Proven understanding of scalable computing systems, software architecture, data structures and algorithms
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum framework/methodologies
