Roles and responsibilities of this job

To be responsible for and lead on the development and delivery of WTMY’s current and future holistic social work prevention and intervention packages to street based children and young people and families at risk aged 0-26 years old in partnership with the WTMY Programme Manager. The focus of this team is promoting resilience, protection and reducing risks through a range of services and emergency relief
To manage a caseload of young people to provide one to one key work with young people experiencing complex issues and provide crisis management.
To lead on the development and provision of holistic assessments, goal setting and intervention packages using evidence-based, solution focused, young people-centred approaches
To provide services in a whole family capacity where practical and safe to do so

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than or equal to 1 year

Other Specification

Education to degree level or equivalent from one or more of the following areas:

Social work, psychological or another relevant qualification

Desirable:

Management or leadership qualifications
Program Management qualifications
Training qualifications

Knowledge Essential:

Sound knowledge and be able to articulate Social work theories, concepts and best practices that promote inclusion, protection and reduce risks to street based children and families at risk
Sound knowledge of trends and issues that affect disadvantaged, excluded communities and client groups at risk
Knowledge and understanding of the key issues relevant to the development of street based children and young people
Knowledge and understanding of issues affecting vulnerable Street Children & Young People (SCYP) with complex needs
Knowledge and understanding of strengths based intervention methods and approaches that affect change
