Nepal Water & Energy Development Company Pvt. Ltd. (NWEDC) is an energy utility company specialized in hydropower development and was established with an intention of encouraging foreign investment to work in the area of hydropower in Nepal.

NWEDC is a Special Purpose Vehicle through which KOEN, KIND, IFC (World Bank Group) and a local partner have been developing Upper Trishuli-1 (UT-1) Hydroelectric Project.

The 216 MW UT-1 Hydroelectric Project located in Rasuwa District of Nepal will annually generate 1456 GWh  of hydroelectricity and supply to the National Grid of Nepal.

  • Long term commitment for the project at least up to its commercial operation date.

Job Description

  • Participate in design review of the project components and provide technical input.
  • Provide technical leadership to the civil team of the project, including supervising, verifying, and validating the work of other civil engineers.
  • Coordinate the regular meetings and interactions among consultants, owner’s engineer, bank’s engineers/consultants, contractors, GON, etc.
  • Closely monitor and supervise the Owner’s engineering team at the site and close interaction with the Contractor’s civil team.
  • Prepare and update project schedule based on the contract.
  • Supervise the site construction activities and advise management on necessary actions.
  • Bridging the head office and Site office activities closely
  • Continuous monitoring of critical activities based on the project schedule and advice management.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports reflecting the Progress of the project to GON and other parties.
  • Assist Management to review and supervise submittals from relevant engineering entities.
  • Prepare all technical-related payment certifications proposals and documentation for claims and disputes.
  • Assist Management in dealing with Government entities regarding technical relevant negotiations and contracts.
  • Assist Management in dealing with Local Problems and E&S matters regarding technical relevant negotiations and meetings.
  • Coordinate with other in-house teams and departments for technical-related matters.
  • Any other jobs as required by management.
