Role and Responsibilities:

The Head of Human Resources is to oversee the day to day running of all personnel related matters, working with the MD and each “Functional Head”- plus overseeing key projects to develop the efficient and effective running of personnel-matters. The role covers both Dogma’s teams in Nepal and the UK, therefore the Head of HR will need to understand both sets of legislation, culture, best practice and market behaviours. They will continually look to drive improvement and seek to add value. Working closely with the managers, the Head of HR will help ensure we have a productive team, working in a happy, efficient manner to meet clients’ and the wider Dogma Group objectives.

The main responsibilities include:

Support the Management Team

  • Drive best practice and act as counsel to management on all issues of employee performance and ensure that HR issues are given full consideration in all decision making.
  • Prepare reports for management in relation to employee turnover, new hires, resignations, training & development, etc.
  • Provide advice, information and support to line managers and employees on HR policies and procedures in line with best practice.
  • Works closely with finance team to work-out the benefits and compensation management. 

Oversee Policies & Processes

  • Develop appropriate human resource policies and standards to ensure effective, fair and equitable management of employees throughout the organization.
  • Focus on the continuous improvement of HR processes and procedures.
  • Recommending amendments and implementing policies & procedures in line with employment law regulation. 

Effective Recruitment to Meet Business Needs

  • Ensure that the recruitment standards both in UK and Nepal are maintained at the highest practicable level and are professional & rigorous.
  • Involvement in senior level resourcing including interviewing candidates and ensuring onboarding is completed.
  • With the Talent Acquisition team, build a strong pipeline of talent.
  • Support, communicate, train and advise the management team on recruitment initiatives and interviewing techniques.
  • Stay abreast of market data for salaries to assist with salary planning and benchmarking for new roles
  • Coordinate recruitment with external suppliers (contingent workforce, search firms, job posting agencies, temporary staffing agencies etc.) including job description formulation, assessments and promotions.

Team Reviews & Development

  • Leading & Supporting management in development of our key asset,  the teams in UK & Nepal
  • Implementing performance appraisals, training and feedback in line with HR standards
  • Working on talent management strategy and the annual talent review process.

Education:

  • Degree in Human Resources Management or related field advantageous.

Skills:

  • Acting as lead to assist line managers, and act as trusted advisor to senior management
  • Able to represent the senior management policies and direction
  • Quick thinking and comfortable in a busy dynamic environment where each day brings new challenges and rewards.
  • Processes driven to produce efficient and simple working procedures
  • Strong business partner and relationship building capabilities across a diverse group – preferably across different site, cultures and possibly internationally
  • Able to represent the company externally with recruitment and working with partners
  • A self-starter; able to prioritize short-term task and long-term projects.
  • Excellent work ethic and grounding of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Able to interpret and analyse numerical data and information.

Experience:

  • Essential 7+ years’ experience in an HR capacity – of which 2-3 years in senior role
  • Preferably Experience in IT or professional service environment
  • Essential Experience of Nepal regulations and best practice plus UK or similar experience
  • Essential experience of successful recruitment and retention
  • Essential experience of appraisal and staff development
  • Essential experience of systems & processes development
  • Preferable experience in handling grievances and misconduct issues
  • Preferable experience of inputting into internal communications/culture/change management
  • Essential Good verbal and written communication skills – experience of working environment that principally is in the English language (UK/USA)
