Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are looking for a highly experienced, creative, and technically sound Senior Architect to lead, review, supervise, and support architectural planning, design coordination, and execution of hotel, hospitality, and infrastructure projects. The candidate should possess strong expertise in architectural design development, construction detailing, project coordination, interior and exterior finishing, and site execution support. The role requires close coordination with civil, MEP, interior, procurement, and project management teams to ensure that all architectural works are executed as per approved concepts, drawings, brand standards, quality requirements, and project timelines. The position also requires regular travel to project locations both inside and outside Kathmandu Valley.

Key Responsibilities:

Architectural Planning & Design Management

Lead and supervise architectural planning, design development, and execution for hotel and infrastructure projects.
Review architectural concept drawings, working drawings, design details, material specifications, and design presentations.
Coordinate with consultants, interior designers, civil engineers, MEP teams, contractors, and management for smooth project execution.
Ensure that architectural works comply with approved drawings, design intent, brand requirements, local codes, and project timelines.
Support project planning, design scheduling, and architectural resource allocation.
The Senior Architect will be a member of the PMC board if needed.

Technical & Architectural Responsibilities

Prepare and review architectural layouts, façade concepts, interior planning, finishing details, and space planning documents.
Review construction drawings, shop drawings, as-built drawings, BOQs, and architectural specifications.
Verify site measurements, finishing quantities, and architectural work progress.
Support site teams in resolving design, detailing, coordination, and finishing-related issues.
Review material samples, mock-ups, and architectural finishes for approval.
Ensure proper integration of architecture with structural, MEP, landscape, and interior requirements.
Monitor hotel guest room layouts, public areas, back-of-house areas, façade works, landscape areas, and other architectural components.

Project Monitoring & Coordination

Conduct regular site inspections to monitor architectural and finishing works.
Prepare progress reports, site observations, snag lists, and architectural review comments.
Coordinate with hotel operators, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders as required.
Ensure proper documentation, design records, revisions, and compliance with project requirements.
Monitor contractor performance, workmanship quality, and adherence to approved architectural details.

Cost, Quality & Material Control

Assist management in architectural cost control, value engineering, and design optimization.
Ensure architectural quality assurance and quality control procedures are followed at site.
Review and support procurement evaluations related to architectural materials, finishes, furniture coordination, and specialized hotel items.
Evaluate material selection based on quality, durability, aesthetics, brand standards, and cost-effectiveness.
Support management in minimizing design changes, rework, and finishing defects.

Leadership & Field Support

Lead and guide site supervisors, and architectural support staff also coordinate with the consultant of the defined project.
Be willing to perform both managerial review tasks and practical site-level architectural support when required.
Maintain professional discipline, design coordination, and teamwork within project sites and office teams.
Provide timely technical advice to management on architectural risks, design challenges, and execution issues.

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 5 years

Other Specification

Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (Master’s Degree preferred).
Must be registered with the Nepal Engineering Council (NEC) / relevant architectural registration authority.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in architectural design and execution of building and infrastructure projects.
Must have successfully completed at least 1 major projects, preferably hotel, hospitality, commercial, or medium-to-large infrastructure projects.
Experience in hospitality projects, hotel pre-opening works, high-rise buildings, resorts, or branded hotel projects will be an added advantage.

Required Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of architectural design, detailing, and project execution.
Knowledge of hotel planning standards, guest room design, public area design, finishing materials, and brand compliance requirements and also have learning nature.
Ability to review architectural drawings, shop drawings, BOQs, specifications, and design documents.
Strong coordination skills with civil, MEP, interior, and project teams.
Good leadership, communication, and reporting skills.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Photoshop, MS Office, and other architectural/design software.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple responsibilities in fast-track project environments.
Strong understanding of site execution, finishing quality, and construction detailing.

Other Requirements:

Willingness to travel frequently outside Kathmandu Valley.
Strong professional ethics, creativity, and problem-solving capability.
Ability to work in dynamic and fast-paced hotel and infrastructure project environments.
Ability to coordinate with operators, consultants, contractors, and internal management teams effectively.
